DAY 1
1 Samuel 2:1-10
And Hannah prayed, and said, My heart rejoiceth in the LORD, mine horn is exalted in the LORD: | Lord, give our hearts joy. Exalt our horn: give us strength for the battle. Keep us going when we get weary. |
my mouth is enlarged over mine enemies; | Give us the ability to laugh at our enemies. |
because I rejoice in Thy salvation. | You are our Savior; give us a joyful, relaxed confidence. You are in control; You will save us. |
{2} There is none holy as the LORD: | The New World Order claims to be holy, to work for the "public good"; but only You are Holy. |
for there is none beside Thee: | Our loyalty is to You alone. |
neither is there any rock like our God. | The State claims to ensure our "national strength," but they are sand, not our Rock. |
{3} Talk no more so exceeding proudly; | Our enemies have profaned Your Name and enthroned violence as "modern" and "scientific." |
let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: | Lord, put the arrogant claims of the State to silence. Let us be servants, not power-mongers. |
for the LORD is a God of knowledge, and by Him actions are weighed. | You know their desire to be their own god, and evade Your Law. Purify our desires, our wills. |
{4} The bows of the mighty men are broken, | Show our enemies that their vaunted systems of power are nothing, that Love is All-powerful. |
and they that stumbled are girded with strength. | Use our weakness to exhibit Your strength. |
{5} They that were full have hired out themselves for bread; | Expose the abominable lies of their economics. |
and they that were hungry ceased: | Prosper us with the glory of the lilies.
|
so that the barren hath born seven; | make us fruitful, to exercise dominion; |
and she that hath many children is waxed feeble. | don't let us be like those who render themselves sterile, and lash out at the future. |
{6} The LORD killeth, and maketh alive: | Never let us forget Your sovereignty |
He bringeth down to the grave, and bringeth up. | Let us not forget that we are not autonomous. |
{7} The LORD maketh poor, and maketh rich: | Keep us from serving mammon |
He bringeth low, and lifteth up. | Let us serve you no matter where we are on the social ladder. |
{8} He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: | Let this petition, with no sponsorship from the ivory towers, slay the autonomy of the judges and rulers |
for the pillars of the earth are the Lord's, and He hath set the world upon them. | The Evolutionists lie; teach us the truth. |
{9} He will keep the feet of His saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; | When their injustice is overturned, reduce their speechwriters to "No comment." |
for by strength shall no man prevail. | Show the futility of the State: its laws, its arms. |
{10} The adversaries of the LORD shall be broken to pieces; out of heaven shall He thunder upon them: the LORD shall judge the ends of the earth;2 and He shall give strength unto His king,3 and exalt the horn of His anointed.4 |
2. "Do you not know that the saints will judge the earth?" I Cor 6:2
3. "And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth." Revelation 5:10
4. "But you have an anointing from the Holy One." I John 2:20,27
